To ensure only the finest guards are provided to our customers, we ourselves
at Westguard Security select, recruit and train all our staff. We have
a qualified trainer to British Standard 7499 within our company, certified
by The International Security Association (IPSA), who promote the highest
standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in the security industry.
Criminal Conviction Checks
All our staff are security checked for criminal convictions
in accordance with the data protection act to ensure the are suitable
candidates to be employed within the security industry. This procedure
is carried via Disclosure Scotland who are in partnership with The Scottish
Criminal Records Office.
All our guards are trained and prepared to respond to emergency
situations, as we at Westguard Security place great emphasis not only
on our rigorous initial training programmes but throughout the career
of the guards.
By investing in continuous training and development programmes
our guards are specially trained to resolve delicate situations and handle
sensitive negotiations while maintaining full control in an up most professional
manner.
Our emphasis on communication skills continues to produce positive and
effective results.
In-house training can also be provided by Westguard Security
to enable your employees to be proactive in the prevention of crime. Training
takes place within the fully equipped and modernised Atrium Centre, and
opportunities are available for your own staff to achieve approved certificates.

Staff Training
All our staff are fully trained by our own licensed and qualified training
officer, to BS7499 standards. Our rigorous induction course for security
personnel is designed in accordance with British Standard BS7499:2002
& BS7984:2001.
